Sentergroup, an MCI Group company is proud to announce that our very own Jim Weinland, Director of Membership Services, earned his Certified Association Executive (CAE®) designation from the American Society for Association Executives (ASAE). The CAE is the highest professional credential in the association industry.
In his role as Director of Membership Services for the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery, Illinois Organization of Nurse Leaders, Association of Women Surgeons, American College of Medical Quality, American Board of Medical Quality, The Giving Institute, and the International Society of Appraisers, Jim drives the growth of each organization by building member satisfaction as well as developing, managing and implementing all membership recruitment, engagement and retention campaigns. He believes in customer service and blending creativity with organizational skills in order to solve problems and help others.
Weinland started at Sentergroup in March of 2017 and immediately transformed the energy of the company with his excitement for serving his clients and curating excellent customer experiences. Jim’s previous work experience includes four years with the nonprofit, Friends of Cleveland School of the Arts and nine years with organizations like the Academy of General Dentistry and the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, all of which prepared him for his role at Sentergroup, where he continues to build strong relationships with client leaders and association members.
To be designated as a Certified Association Executive, an applicant must have a minimum of five years’ experience with nonprofit organization management, complete a minimum of 100 hours of specialized professional development, pass a stringent examination in association management, and pledge to uphold a code of ethics. To maintain certification, individuals must undertake ongoing professional development and activities in association and nonprofit management. More than 4,200 association professionals currently hold the CAE credential. The CAE Program is accredited by the National Commission for Certifying Agencies.
ASAE is a membership organization of 39,000 association executives and industry partners representing 7,400 organizations. Its members manage leading trade associations, individual membership societies and voluntary organizations across the United States and in nearly 50 countries around the world.
